Our Mission
philipdossick.org is the official literary archive and permanent home for the works and legacy of author, filmmaker, and editor Philip Dossick. Our mission is to preserve and contextualize a singularly independent American body of work spanning more than six decades—from groundbreaking independent cinema to novels, investigative non-fiction, biography, poetry, and the restoration of historical texts.
Dossick’s legacy rests on a consistent moral imagination: a career spent chronicling the collision between history and individual human lives, giving voice, dignity, and lasting record to ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances.

Across fiction, drama, and documentary narrative, Dossick’s work looks past the secure center of society toward those standing outside the frame—the veteran, the patient, the fugitive, the artist, the dissident, the elderly, the marginalized.
