Emily Brontë published Wuthering Heights in 1847.  It was her first and only novel.

Tragically, she died the following year, at age 30.

Wuthering Heights is a haunting story of intense and tragic beauty. Its uncensored violence and passion were wholly at odds with the inhibited nature of Victorian times. Nonetheless, no one could deny the enormous power and imagination of her novel and it has since become one of the most highly regarded classics of English literature.

Emily Brontë (1818-1848) was an English poet and novelist. Today she is best remembered for her only novel, Wuthering Heights, now considered a classic of English literature, written under her nom de plume, Ellis Bell.
